Japanese minimalist style is simple to describe but hard to capture. With just enough of everything you need, and nothing that you don’t, the RS502 is exactly what it should be–beautifully simple.

Yamaha makes a serious instrument. This thing easily competes with $2k+ Gibsons for build quality, and tone. There is some magic happening in the Indonesian instrument industry – the skill-base there, coupled with Yamaha’s great quality control, is a perfect match.
I went over the RS502 I received from Piano Heritage with a fine toothed comb. It is basically flawless in everyway, great! Then I plugged it in…these pickups are winners, exactly what I wanted in a P90 – well defined, full tone; pushed my amp perfectly. The solid body gives a huge amount of sustain, and the playability is as good as any, ANY, guitar I have ever played. Yamaha is far too underrated in the electric guitar world – my first acoustic was a Yamaha and I always wanted one of their electrics…this guitar has exceeded all my expectations.
